Intention of Playfulness

 This week, the intention in class is playfulness! Be light hearted, have fun and don't take anything too seriously. Let yourself be playful and in class, try something new! We will be playing around with bodyweight exercises. The focus is on moving our bodies and getting the mind and body connection. I will be offering modifications to level up intensity on core exercises this week, as the core muscle group is what we will be focusing most on in class.  Today I had the honor of taking a fellow teacher's yoga sculpt class after subbing the 6am class Downtown. It was fun to be a student and get some more creative ideas for class. I learned more about deepening hip opener stretches, how to level up movements in core by adding combo exercises such as chest flies with the rainbow twist movement, my students are familiar with this and I can't wait to introduce the new addition on to the workout. Schedule + Intention for Week of 3-12

Whether you look at Sunday as the weekend or the start of a new week, it's an opportunity to set the tone for the week ahead! This week in my class, I will be offering the intention of mindfulness. I always invite students to set their own intention, but if nothing else comes to mind then I bring the opportunity to become more mindful. In my class we will be practicing mindfulness with our thoughts though positive affirmations, staying present in the moment and being mindful in our bodies by focusing on the quality of your movement. Moving with intention is important because it allows you to focus on having good form, being in alignment and getting the most out of your workout! We can look at obstacles as opportunities for growth. We can change our mindset to positive rather than negative.  Hi, my name is Kathryn. Welcome to my page! I am a certified yoga teacher with CorePower Yoga. I am a 200 RYT certified in Power Yoga, Yoga Sculpt, and recently received my Strength X certification. Strength X is a program co-created with the Nike personal trainer, that focuses on lifting heavy weights and choosing your intensity level. I am a former student athlete, and grew up playing sports throughout my life.
